Surge in foreign holdings of US Treasuries and agencies ends two-week slide
Foreign central banks' ownership of US Treasuries increased this week after two successive weeks of falls data from the Federal Reserve, out Thursday, showed.
The Fed data revealed that US Treasuries held by overseas central banks at the Fed rose by $8.23 billion, or 0.36%, to $2.27 trillion for the week ending 26 May.
Meanwhile agency securities - debt issued or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or the Federal Home Loan Banks - rose by $9.96 billion from $796 billion to $806 billion for
