UK: The UK Treasury has named David Roberts to be the new chair of the Bank of England’s court of directors, the government announced on July 21. He will take office in autumn, in place of Bradley Fried, whose four-year term ended in June.

Roberts is a former executive director at Barclays, one of the UK’s largest banks, where he was also in charge of international retail and commercial banking. He also served as chair of the board at Nationwide, another UK financial services institution. He is
