Banknotes round-up: Egypt debuts polymer note

Egypt: The Central Bank of Egypt inaugurated a new, polymer E£10 ($0.525) banknote on July 5. These are the first polymer currency pieces to circulate in Egypt.

The design of the note received input from banknote firms De La Rue and CCL Secure. The note is printed at the central bank’s printworks using polymer substrate supplied by both firms.
