Banknote provider De La Rue mulls full takeover offer

Edi Truell-backed companies drop bid for 40% stake and go all-in instead

De La Rue, the UK-based firm that prints banknotes for many of the world’s central banks, has said it is “considering its options” with regard to a preliminary takeover offer.

In an announcement to the London Stock Exchange today (January 9), the company said Disruptive Capital and Pension Superfund Capital had offered £1.25 per share for its entire issued and yet-to-be-issued share capital. Both prospective buyers are owned by financier Edi Truell.
