National Bank of Poland to release new highest value banknote
Banknote will be the last of the new series, which was first announced in 2014
The National Bank of Poland will circulate a new 500-zloty ($125) banknote on February 10, completing the launch of its new series.
The new note will be the last of the bank's "Rulers of Poland" series, announced in 2014, and will supersede the 200 zloty as the nation's highest denomination.
The bank cited "public demand" and "maintaining central bank reserves" as reasons for introducing a higher denomination, in educational material released on a new portal dedicated to the note.
