Pakistan governor resigns for ‘personal reasons’
The Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Yaseen Anwar, has resigned from his post following a serious accident involving one of his family members.
His resignation will take effect from tomorrow, January 31. The SBP's chief spokesman told Central Banking.com that Anwar was resigning for "personal reasons" and cited "the accident that one of his sons suffered three weeks ago".
Anwar joined the SBP as a deputy governor in March 2007, and was handed a three-year term as governor in October
