Monetary policy budget averages under $2 million annually
Budgets larger in high income, upper-middle income central banks
The average annual budget of central bank monetary policy departments is lower than $2 million, data from the Monetary Policy Benchmarks 2024 shows.
The departmental budget averages $1.8 million among the 20 institutions that provided data. A central bank from Africa allocates the largest annual budget of $10.8 million to the division, while a high income respondent from the Americas accounts for the lowest annual budget of just $112,373 a year.
