Half of central banks regularly review monetary framework

Vast majority conduct reviews but many are ad hoc

It is standard practice at the vast majority of central banks to conduct reviews of the monetary policy framework, but only around half conduct them on a regular basis, the Monetary Policy Benchmarks 2024 find.

All but one of the benchmark respondents say they conduct reviews of money policy. The one respondent that does not conduct reviews has an exchange rate peg, which may imply less need to review the framework.

Thirty-nine central banks answered the question. Of these, 53.8% conduct reviews
