BSP policy-makers’ staff resign over absence allegations
Philippine central bank says an internal probe identified six staff and disciplinary proceedings are ongoing
Several staff working under two monetary board members at the Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) have resigned over allegations they had continued to receive pay despite long absences from work, the central bank said on May 28.
The BSP statement came after media outlets reported as early as May 10 that two monetary board members had “ghost employees” in their offices, citing anonymous sources.
“We hope this clarifies, within the bounds of confidentiality and fairness due to ongoing proceedings
