Lebanese judge questions governor
Salameh interviewed in presence of European officials after initially refusing to be questioned
Lebanon’s central bank governor Riad Salameh has been formally interviewed by a judge on behalf of and in the presence of a team of European investigators.
Charbel Abu Samra interviewed Salameh today (March 17) and the previous day at the Palais de Justice in Beirut, Al Jazeera reported.
On March 15, Salameh refused to attend a scheduled hearing, saying the presence of the European judges conflicted with Lebanon’s national sovereignty. But authorities rejected his argument and ordered him to
