Mauritania finance minister becomes new governor
Dhehbi succeeds Moulaye Taher, as ex-governor joins new cabinet
The president of Mauritania has appointed the country’s finance minister as the new governor of the central bank.
Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi succeeds Kebir Ould Moulay Taher, who became minister of digitalisation. Dhehbi served as finance minister from August 2019 until his appointment as governor.
Prior to this, he was a senior civil servant in several positions relating to public finance and property. He rose to become the director-general of Mauritania’s treasury in October 2015. Dhehbi
