Finnish central bank offers pessimistic outlook for growth

The Bank of Finland published a summary of its 2010 Economic Outlook earlier this week showing the collapse in world trade and exports dragged the Finnish economy into recession in the final quarter of 2008.


Finland's real GDP declined by 7.8% in 2009, representing the biggest decline since 1918. From an international standpoint, the drop in Finnish GDP was particularly sharp with only the Baltic States experiencing a bigger decline in output among EU members.
