Turkey can do without Fund’s loans – Yilmaz

Durmus Yilmaz, the governor of the Central Bank of Turkey, said on Saturday the country no longer needed loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Yilmaz said Fund's lending had become less important as the country's current-account deficit narrowed.

"Can Turkey do without an IMF program? Yes it can," Yilmaz said adding that the decision was in the final instance made by the government.

"If Turkey on its own can deliver the results which are expected on an IMF program, it's much better
