Vietnam developing crypto legal framework

Country banned crypto as a means of payment in 2017

State Bank of Vietnam, Hanoi

On March 23, Le Minh Khai, Vietnam’s deputy prime minister, issued a notice to the finance ministry to work on a legal framework for digital assets and cryptocurrencies.

The finance ministry should work with the central bank, as well as the justice, information and communications ministries on the research, the deputy prime minister said.

The research will focus on the relationship between virtual and real money, as well as risks to the IT and e-commerce sectors.
