The US Federal Reserve identifies quantum computing and AI as emerging risks to the financial system in its 2023 cyber security report, published on August 1. 

Though machine learning could improve cyber security automation in intrusion detection and data loss prevention, it could also be used to “automate cyber reconnaissance and attacks, further increasing the likelihood and impact of cyber incidents”, the report says.
