Polish court blocks state from investigating governor

The judges in Poland’s constitutional court ruled on January 11 that the newly elected government cannot investigate alleged wrongdoing by the country’s central bank governor.
Prime minister Donald Tusk vowed during the election campaign to ask Poland’s state tribunal to investigate National Bank of Poland governor Adam Glapiński. The state tribunal can impeach senior officials if a majority in Parliament votes for it.
