Tunisian president wants central bank to directly finance budget
Central bank governor has rejected calls for monetary financing as observers warn of growing crisis
The president of Tunisia has called for the central bank to directly finance the government, as the country faces a growing economic crisis.
Kais Saied made the remarks when visiting the Central Bank of Tunisia on September 8, Reuters reported. Saied has refused to accept the International Monetary Fund’s conditions for a loan.
