Ukrainian ex-governor accuses authorities of abuse of power
Shevchenko says he was not given time to prepare case before court issued arrest warrant
Ukraine’s former central bank governor Kyrylo Shevchenko has accused two of the country’s anti-corruption agencies of preventing his lawyers from adequately representing him in court.
A court in Kyiv issued a warrant to take Shevchenko into preventative detention after a hearing on November 9. The office of Ukraine’s special anti-corruption prosecutor, SAP, requested the warrant for Shevchenko, who is currently living in an undisclosed Western European country.
