Taiwan and Paraguay central banks sign co-operation agreement
Paraguay is only South American state to recognise Taiwan government instead of Beijing
The central banks of Paraguay and Taiwan signed a co-operation agreement on August 24, dated August 25 in Taiwan.
The central banks said the agreement aims to promote joint research, fieldwork, knowledge exchange and technical co-operation. It is of indefinite duration, according to the Central Bank of Paraguay’s press release.
The agreement strengthens one of Taiwan’s few remaining links to a United Nations member state. The Paraguayan central bank sent a proposal for such a pact to the
