Ukrainian deputy governor accuses central bank of censorship

Rozhkova says governor is using “Soviet”-style practices but NBU spokeswoman attacks “slander”

The second-most senior official at Ukraine’s central bank publicly accused the governor of censoring her and excluding her from a banking supervision meeting.

First deputy governor Kateryna Rozhkova made the allegations against governor Kyrylo Shevchenko in a very strongly-worded statement in Ukrainian on the social media network Facebook. She said on March 10 that the central bank’s communications department had forbidden publication of an interview she had given to news magazine Novoye Vremya
