RBNZ launches climate change strategy

New Zealand joins international group of central banks aiming to meet Paris agreement goals

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand unveiled a climate change strategy today (December 13), and announced it has joined the group of central banks working to meet the Paris agreement goals.

Under the strategy, the RBNZ will start measuring and managing its impact on the climate. The central bank will calculate its carbon footprint, and publish a breakdown of emissions with its annual report. It will also establish a target for reducing its future carbon emissions, set up a plan in order to reach
