Regulators must improve co-operation in monitoring shadow banks – Irish governor
Good regulation of the sector needs "better understanding of the geography of risk"
Central banks and financial regulators must "forge closer co-operation" to better regulate "shadow banking", the governor of Ireland's central bank said in a recent speech.
Regulators of shadow banking needed "a better understanding of the geography of risk", Philip Lane told the International Capital Market Association Conference in Dublin on May 19.
Improved regulator co-operation would have to be underpinned by "an improved framework for collecting, managing and sharing data" on shadow banks
