Bank of Mauritius chief bemoans ‘glaring absence’ of bank resolution mechanism

Mauritius's position as a global financial centre is being undermined by the lack of an efficient bank resolution mechanism, while a number of other financial stability problems remain, governor Rundheersing Bheenick wrote in an end-of-year letter to stakeholders published on February 5.

"The glaring absence of an efficient banking resolution mechanism may be a brake on our attempt to transform our jurisdiction into an international money centre," Bheenick wrote. He raised additional concerns
