Mexican inflation slows slightly
Headline inflation remains over target, as analyst warns food and fuel prices could rise
Mexico’s year-on-year rate of inflation slowed marginally in Mexico in September, according to official statistics released on October 10.
However, risks persist and observers expect monetary policy to remain tight in the months to come. In September, headline inflation increased year on year by 4.45%, down from 4.64% in August.
In September 2022 headline inflation stood at 8.7%. Despite slowing since then, inflation remains over the Bank of Mexico’s 3% target.
