US wage expectations rising, says NY Fed labour market survey
Both lowest acceptable transitionary wage and expected salary hit series highs
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s July labour market survey recorded series highs for expected wages. The survey began in 2014.
The lowest average wage respondents would accept for new employment reached a peak of $78,645. That figure was almost $6,000 less than one year ago.
Of the respondents who anticipate receiving a job offer, the average expected salary also reached a series high, $67,416.
