Eurozone consumer inflation expectations down ‘significantly’

ECB data shows median 12 months ahead expectations fell to 4.1% in April

Consumer inflation expectations in the eurozone “decreased significantly” in April, according to data released by the European Central Bank (ECB) today (June 6).

The median 12 months ahead inflation expectations declined from 5% in March to 4.1% in April, while the mean fell from 6.3% to 5.3% over the same period. Similarly, the median expectations for three years ahead decreased from 2.9% in March to 2.5% in April, and the mean from 4.3% to 3.8%.
