Real house price growth slowing slightly, BIS says
Advanced economies still seeing price increases that are close to historic highs
Global housing markets cooled slightly in late 2021, according to statistics published by the Bank for International Settlements, although price rises remained close to historic highs.
The data shows annual growth in real house prices moderated to 4.6% in the fourth quarter of 2021, down from 5.4% in the previous quarter. Though nominal increases hit a new record high, the real figure fell due to higher inflation.
