OECD flags early signs of ‘moderating’ growth
Slowdown is widespread in advanced economies, but emerging markets see greater divergence
The surge of growth many countries have enjoyed in the wake of the first shock from Covid-19 may be coming to an end, early indicators show.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said its composite leading indicators (CLIs), published today (August 10), show signs of a “moderating pace of growth” in many economies. The indicators are designed to anticipate turning points in economic activity.
The OECD said this moderation was apparent in data for the US and UK
