Eurozone inflation expected to decline in June
Early estimates suggest inflation fell to 1.9%, from 2% in May
Inflation in the eurozone is expected to decline in June, according to early estimates by official statistical agency Eurostat.
Harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) inflation is estimated to have declined to 1.9% year on year in June, from 2% in May.
If confirmed, this would be the first monthly decline in HICP inflation since September 2020, when it declined from -0.2% to -0.3%. Inflation in the eurozone remained at that level until December 2020, before it climbed to 0.9% in January
