MAS seeking to build data science community, says chief data officer

David Hardoon urges people to embrace data science and computing

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is seeking to bring together diverse groups to share ideas on data science as it looks to encourage widespread adoption of new techniques, the authority’s chief data officer said today (May 26).

The MAS itself is working to better organise its data, deploy new tools such as machine learning, improve infrastructure for data collection and analysis, and train people to gain a deeper understanding of these new issues, David Hardoon told a conference.
