Currency round-up: BEAC to launch new banknote series

Central Africa: The Bank of Central African States (BEAC) will introduce a new series of banknotes into circulation on December 15. The new issue is the first since 2002.
According to reports, the 2022 issue will be the first to feature all four official languages in the Central African monetary zone: French, Spanish, English and Arabic.
The release will coincide with a programme of events marking BEAC’s 50th anniversary, which will be held in the capital of Chad, N’Djamena.
