Mexican deputy governor weighs challenges facing economy
Manuel Sánchez, a deputy governor of the Bank of Mexico, delivered a speech on June 27 in which he considered a number of external threats to the Mexican economy, but remained positive about domestic growth prospects.
Speaking at the Adam Smith Seminar in Switzerland, Sánchez noted that wide interest rate spreads with the US had led to increasing capital inflows. Despite this, he said indicators did not show a significant weakening of the export market, or development of asset price bubbles.
