Central Bank of Turkey - Annual Report 2006

The Central Bank of Turkey celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2006.

Durmus Yilmaz, the governor of the central bank, said the anniversary marks "a historic turning point in our fight against inflation."

The governor said the central bank had made "tremendous progress" over the past five years in maintaining price stability. "Inflation has declined to single digits with an economic growth averaging above 7% per annum," Yilmaz said.
