According to the Central Bank of Iran's Annual Report 2004-2005, the Iranian economy kept its growth trend with a milder pace in the last year of the 3rd Plan.

Despite structural impediments to manufacturing and services sectors, mild recession prevailing in the world economy and undesirable political developments in the region, increasing oil prices along with policies adopted by the government helped the economy maintain its growth trend.
