Riksbank flags concerns over pace of development in payments

Tech development proceeding ‘too rapidly’, says central bank

Sveriges Riksbank expressed concerns over the pace of technological development in the country's payments market today (March 16). Its comments came in a response to a parliamentary consultation.

In a statement, the central bank acknowledged the market was functioning "well". However, it should develop at a rate which "did not create problems for certain groups or exclude anyone from the payment market", the bank added.

The Riksbank is concerned that the payments market in Sweden is changing
