Bernanke passes torch to Yellen as poll shows US torn on his legacy
Janet Yellen will be sworn in as chair of the Federal Reserve at 9am on Monday, local time (2pm GMT), after she was confirmed at the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) annual organisational meeting this week, the Fed said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll shows the US public remains torn on Bernanke's performance during his time in office, with 40% approving and 35% disapproving. One in four have no opinion.
