Issing brands calls for detailed ECB minutes disclosure ‘absurd'
Publishing the minutes of the European Central Bank's (ECB) governing council meetings, including the reasons behind each member's vote – as advocated earlier this week by ECB executive board member Jörg Asmussen – would be "absurd", according to former ECB chief economist Otmar Issing.
Issing told CentralBanking.com that such a move would "start an endless debate, which is very risky for the reputation and for the European approach" of the ECB, which "has to conduct monetary policy for the euro
