Asset price bubbles “catastrophic”: UK Chancellor

Alistair Darling, the chancellor of the exchequer , suggested that the G20 nations should develop an approach to dealing with asset price bubbles.

Darling told Bloomberg, a news service, on Thursday: "We have got to make sure we don't get ourselves into a situation where some pressure starts to rise and then it becomes bigger and bigger and when the whole thing comes to an end it has catastrophic consequences."

His comments came ahead of a meeting of G20 finance ministers that he is set to host
