Chile on track for growth of close to 6%

Chile yesterday looked on course for economic growth this year of close to 6% after stronger than expected gross domestic product figures for October.

The central bank said yesterday that the monthly indicator of economic activity, the Imacec, which tracks GDP, climbed 5.8% year on year, ahead of analysts' estimates of less than 5.5%. The figure was 3.9% in September, a month in which output was affected by public holidays.
