Share of reserve managers investing in green and social bonds declines
Share of portfolios allocated to these assets grow modestly
The share of central banks investing part of their reserves in green and social bonds declined over the last year, according to data from the Reserve Benchmarks 2022.
Overall, 37.2% of participating central banks are currently active in these areas. Last year the share was 42.9%. Back in 2020 the share was 30.5%.
More reserve managers invest in green bonds than in social bonds. In total, 37.2% invest in the former and 11.6% in the latter. In fact, all central banks investing in social bonds
