Technology reserve staff levels hold during pandemic

Remote work posed an operational challenge

Staff members in technology reserve departments grew modestly during the pandemic, according to Reserve Benchmarks 2021.

The proportion of technology staff increased slightly from 15.9% to 16.6%. Central bank staff around the world had to adjust to remote working during the pandemic. Despite increased challenges executing operations remotely, the proportion of staff dedicated to front office, risk and technology has remained largely the same.
