Central banks leverage multimedia communication channels

Around a third have added podcasts, mobile apps and blogs to their comms repertoire

Central banks use a wide range of channels to communicate externally, from traditional means such as press releases to newer ideas such as blogs and podcasts.

All 35 central banks participating in the Central Banking Communications Benchmarks 2021 said they use long-standing external channels such as press releases and press conferences. 

Around a third use newer and more experimental mediums such as podcasts (13, 37%), mobile apps (12, 34%) or blogs (10, 29%).
