Bank of England deputy tackles macro-prudential effects on banking

The Bank of England's deputy governor for financial stability, Paul Tucker, gave a speech on Saturday at a joint SUERF-Bank of Finland conference in Helsinki examining the implications of banking regulation for the credit system.

In his speech, entitled Banking reform and macro-prudential regulation: implications for banks' capital structure and credit conditions, Tucker first examined the micro-regulatory regime and banks' capital structure, before moving on to the introduction of new macro
