Governor joins European central bankers in warning of economic and geopolitical uncertainty

Finland’s president Alexander Stubb has confirmed today (March 14) that Olli Rehn will lead the country’s central bank for another seven years.

Rehn’s re-appointment comes a month after the parliamentary supervisory council that oversees the Bank of Finland proposed that he should serve a second term as governor. The government backed the idea on March 13. Bank of Finland governors are not allowed to serve more than two consecutive terms.

Rehn’s second term will begin on July 12. Before joining
