CNB to set up new research and statistics department

Central bank says restructuring will boost its ability to “analyse and model economic trends”

The Czech National Bank (CNB) is to fold all of its research and statistics capabilities into a single department.

The bank said on December 6 that from the start of next year, its statistics and data support department would be merged with parts of its financial stability and monetary departments. The new unit will be led by Simona Malovaná, who currently heads the financial stability department’s financial research division.
