Czech National Bank cuts rates by 50 basis points

Central European country follows in Hungary’s footsteps in easing

The Czech National Bank

The Czech National Bank (CNB) cut its policy rate, the two-week repo rate, by 50 basis points today (May 2).

The cut to 5.25% is the fourth consecutive time the CNB has lowered the rate since December 2023. The central bank also adjusted its other rates, the discount rate and the Lombard rate, to 4.25% and 6.75%, respectively.
