Carstens wins major Spanish economics prize
King of Spain award praises BIS president’s work in Mexico and globally
The Bank of Spain announced on November 18 that a jury headed by its governor would award a major economics prize to Bank for International Settlements president Agustín Carstens.
The central bank’s statement said that the prize jury judged Carstens “one of the most important and influential economic policy-makers in the Ibero-American world of the last three decades”.
The King of Spain economic prize is a bi-annual honour sponsored by the José Celma Prieto Foundation and established in 1986
