Global climate standards ‘badly needed’ but elusive, say central bankers
“I am not sure we are going to get there,” ECB president says
Global co-operation to harmonise standards on green finance is critically important but is proving difficult to deliver, senior central bankers conceded today (June 1).
Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, said the world “badly needed” policy-makers to work together to harmonise standards on green assets, to improve disclosures and facilitate the creation of a single global carbon price.
“That would be highly desirable,” Lagarde told the Bank for International Settlements
