ECB raises concerns over new Cyprus agency
Powers given to digital security agency should not prejudice those of ECB, opinion warns
The European Central Bank has recommended that Cyprus’s government make several changes to a law setting up a new digital security agency.
The Cypriot government has drafted a law that would set up the DSA and give it the task of securing the country’s electronic communications systems and networks. Cyprus is a member of the eurozone.
The ECB said it was ready to co-operate with the DSA, once it was created, in safeguarding the electronic infrastructure used by eurozone financial institutions
