Philippine president plans to amend law to hand Tetangco third term
Duterte plans to ask Amando Tetangco to stay for third term
The president of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, is planning to appoint central bank governor Amando Tetangco for a third term, even though the law currently prohibits it.
The country's central bank law stipulates a governor may serve a maximum of two six-year terms. Tetangco is due to reach the end of his second term in July 2017.
